HR Tech platforms can now seamlessly embed carrier-grade employee phone plans in 50+ countries into their platforms, boosting productivity and cutting costs for businesses.

San Francisco, January 7, 2025 — Gigs, the operating system for mobile services, today announced the appointment of Jeanne Ahn as Head of HR Tech, marking a strategic expansion into the HR Tech sector. Jeanne, previously Head of Partnerships at Remote, and Business Development Lead at Checkr, brings a wealth of experience in building partnerships with the world's leading HR platforms, such as Gusto, BambooHR and Greenhouse. Based in San Francisco, she will lead Gigs' go-to-market strategy for the vertical, forge critical partnerships in the HR Tech space, and drive the company's growth as it tackles the completely underserved market for employee phone plans.

Until now, managing employee connectivity has been a complex and costly headache. Companies are bound by rigid contracts with opaque pricing for each market, and forced to juggle multiple telecom providers across tedious spreadsheets, requiring extensive coordination between HR and IT departments. To complicate matters further, many companies experience limited access to essential user data and are regularly blindsided by excessive roaming fees amounting to thousands of dollars when employees travel for business.

Gigs replaces this with a single, API-based connectivity platform that enables providers like Deel, Rippling, and Gusto, as well as large enterprise customers to integrate corporate phone plans seamlessly into their HR and payroll tools, unlocking a new revenue stream that turns a profit from day one. Businesses benefit from a single solution across markets, with one contract and a consolidated invoice, allowing them to automatically configure, provision, and manage phone plans effortlessly throughout the employee lifecycle in over 50 countries and growing. In addition, Gigs' roaming partnerships in 195+ markets enable employees to avoid unexpected additional costs on business trips, while benefiting from seamless, cost-effective global connectivity.

“Corporate phone plans remain one of the least automated sectors within enterprise operations. Thanks to our pioneering technology, built upon our preferential carrier integrations, we're able to fully automate employee connectivity—whether a workforce is located in one country or 50,” said Hermann Frank, co-founder and CEO of Gigs. “Phone plans are an incredibly sticky product and the key piece missing in the race of building truly end-to-end employee management software. As the architect of Remote’s most prolific partnerships, Jeanne brings a wealth of experience that will be instrumental in enabling the leaders in the HRIS and enterprise space.”

“HR tech platforms like Remote, Rippling, and Deel have transformed global workforce management by streamlining processes and ensuring compliance through a single platform. Telecom is the final missing piece,” added Jeanne Ahn, Head of HR Tech at Gigs. “I have seen teams manually handle over 4,000 employee phone plans across 20+ carriers and countries—eating resources from multiple departments and piling up costs in the tens of thousands every month. With Gigs, businesses can simply send new employees an eSIM in an email or Slack message, enabling them to install an eSIM with a single tap and to manage the whole portfolio of lines through a single dashboard. I’m thrilled to join a team with a relentless focus on customer needs and a mission to eliminate telecom complexities.“

This is how companies can leverage Gigs to automate phone plans

A single API for multiple markets and carriers
Gigs enables HR tech platforms to swiftly and seamlessly embed premium enterprise phone plans for employees directly into their user-facing applications, with the ability to build custom automations on top. The thoroughly documented, carrier-agnostic API provides businesses access to premium connectivity across 50+ countries worldwide with industry-leading commercial terms.

Streamlined onboarding process
New employees receive an eSIM card in an email or Slack message, allowing them to install their eSIM and activate their phone plan with a single tap—eliminating the need for manual intervention by IT or HR. Likewise, when employees leave the organization, their plan can be automatically terminated, eliminating the cost of zombie lines while reducing security risk.

One invoice for all markets
Businesses benefit from a single, consolidated invoice and no longer need to manage different billing cycles from multiple carriers across various markets. This streamlines processes and enhances the operational efficiency of finance and accounting teams.

Seamless phone plan management
Employees can manage their phone plans easily—such as activating travel eSIMs for international use with a single tap—directly within familiar tools like Slack. This allows for convenient self-service in user-friendly interfaces. At the same time, companies can set role-based spending policies, offering tailored plans for executives and standard options for other team members, much like managing other software-defined benefits.

Enhanced security management
Gigs strengthens SIM swap fraud prevention with automated alerts that detect and respond to suspicious activities like unauthorized SIM changes. The system automatically disables affected SIMs, continuously monitors for irregularities, and offers real-time visibility and control, minimizing manual intervention while ensuring robust fraud protection.

Improved visibility and control
Companies gain full, real-time visibility into subscriptions, usage, devices, and other key metrics, allowing for effective monitoring and management of all mobile usage aspects.

Data-driven decision making
Detailed insights into data usage and travel patterns enable companies to optimize phone plans based on actual employee needs, helping to prevent overspending through informed adjustments.

Scalability and flexibility
Companies can easily scale their phone plans and flexibly adapt them each month as their business and employee needs evolve, without being tied to rigid external contracts. More information can be found here: gigs.com/hr-tech
