The Challenge

Delivering “iPhone like” streaming performance

High-quality streaming is the main reason customers choose the Magic Box over cheaper alternatives. But without embedded connectivity, delivering a consistently premium experience was difficult.

Reliance on personal hotspots led to audio and video lag, connection drops when switching between CarPlay and streaming, and unreliable performance overall. As a result, slow streaming speeds and connectivity issues became the number one reason for returns.

Finding the right connectivity partner

Customers wanted “iPhone-like” streaming performance, especially for kids watching content on rear screens. Magic knew embedded connectivity was the answer, but finding the right connectivity partner was not straightforward. Key challenges included:
